Pixel Flow Beginner's Guide: Master the Basics in 5 Minutes
Pixel Flow Team•January 11, 2026
What is Pixel Flow?
Pixel Flow is an addictive puzzle game where you connect matching colored dots by drawing paths between them. The catch? Your paths can't cross each other, and you need to fill every cell on the grid.
Sounds simple, right? It starts that way, but the later levels will make you question everything you thought you knew about puzzle games.
The Basic Rules
1. Connect Matching Colors
Each puzzle has pairs of colored dots. Your job is to draw a line connecting each pair. Red to red, blue to blue, and so on.2. No Crossing Allowed
This is where it gets tricky. Your paths cannot cross each other. If you need to connect two dots on opposite sides of the grid, you'll need to find a route that doesn't interfere with other connections.3. Fill Every Cell
It's not enough to just connect the dots. The puzzle isn't complete until every single cell on the grid has a path running through it. No empty spaces allowed.Essential Strategies for Beginners
Start with the Obvious Ones
Look for dot pairs that have only one possible path. These "forced moves" are guaranteed to be correct. Solve them first to reduce the complexity of the remaining puzzle.Work from the Edges
Corner and edge dots have fewer routing options than dots in the center. Starting with these constrained paths often reveals the solution for the rest of the puzzle.Think Ahead
Before drawing a path, consider how it affects other connections. A path that seems correct might block a crucial route for another color.Use the Undo Button
Don't be afraid to backtrack. If you've painted yourself into a corner, undo your last few moves and try a different approach. Sometimes a fresh perspective is all you need.Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Rushing: Take your time to analyze the grid before making moves
- Ignoring the fill requirement: Remember, every cell must be covered
- Tunnel vision: Don't focus on one color at a time; consider the whole puzzle
